This Portmanteau is a combination of chairs and a table. Two convertible seats/surfaces allow for multiple heights, either a seat, desk, or footrest. The hinges along the back allow for each side to be rotated 90 degrees to create two side by side pieces of furniture. My approach to construction involves creating a seat of "poles" , which interlock with two sur-

faces. I also have a series of joins which allows the seats/surfaces to be attached. To create by shape I used reflective symmetry. I used two circles of equal diameters, and added straight surfaces tangent to the quartiles in order to create a flowing symmetrical shape. I reflected this in my cushions which are placed centrally to those circles. Sanded edges and rounded joints help reinforce this aesthetic decision. The widths of my surfaces are double the width of my plywood, creating an additional division of two within my proportions.
